6 to 9 August · Barkandji Country
Mutawintji Cultural Festival
Straight after our Trangie celebrations, THRIV3 travels with local youth and our Wungunja Cultural Dancers to the Mutawintji Cultural Festival, an annual gathering on Barkandji Country at Mutawintji National Park celebrating Aboriginal culture, connection to Country and community.
Where: Mutawintji National Park, NSW
When: Thursday 6 to Sunday 9 August 2026
Who: First Nations communities from across NSW and Australia
What: Traditional dance and corroborees, cultural workshops, guided cultural tours, knowledge sharing and storytelling
Our Wungunja Cultural Dancers
Our dancers will represent Trangie and perform alongside communities from right across the state. It is a deadly opportunity for our young people to grow in culture, share knowledge and build connections with other Nations.
A safe, family-friendly festival
The festival is family friendly and a drug and alcohol-free event. All THRIV3 activities are risk-assessed, culturally guided and delivered under Elder authority, with qualified supervision for our youth participants at all times.
Good to know
Everything sorted, so you can just turn up
Free and open to all
All Trangie NAIDOC activities are free. Everyone in our community is welcome: First Nations and non-Indigenous, young and old.
Weather matters
Goan Waterhole activities are weather dependent. If conditions are not safe we will move to a backup venue and let everyone know.
Guided by Elders
Welcome to Country, Smoking Ceremony and cultural activities are directed by local Elders and Trangie LALC cultural governance.
Photos and video
Photos and video will only be captured and shared with consent. Look out for signage and our media consent process on the day.
Safety first
First aid, drinking water, shade and sunscreen will be available across venues, with child-safe supervision at all activities.
Locked in
The program is approved and locked in. Only weather can shift outdoor sessions, and we will announce any changes straight away.
